Friendships
CBSD is proud of the many friendships that have been formed between people of different nationalities and different age groups.
Michelle is French and Gabriela Argentinian.
Michelle and Gabriela are pictured here after the first CBSD Mountain Walk 18 months ago they are are still firm friends and see each other regularly even though Gabriela lives in Alicante and Michelle in Denia.
On the same mountain walk more friendships were formed, Vicente who lives in
El Campello can often be seen in Denia in the Company of Annabell, Orlando,
Michelle and Gabriela.
Since that first meeting they have all participated regularly in CBSD events and their group of friends has grown to include Alfonso from Denia, Richard, Brian and Anja from Alcalali.
Romance
CBSD is about getting to know people and if you meet
a partner for romance that is a bonus!
We are very proud that some of the couples who have met through attending our events are still together and have formed lasting and loving relationships.

Joanna and Paul
Joanna and Paul met at a CBSD dinner in Denia in Spring 2007.
They did not date straight away they were invited out by mutual friends who met at
the same dinner and through those meetings their love blossomed.
They were married in Pedreguer Church in September 2007
Caireen and Jim
Caireen and Jim met at a Speed Date in Torrevieja in 2006.
On the 29th of April 2008 they became the proud parents of Daisy a beautifull baby girl - our first CBSD Baby!!
Their wedding is planned for September 2008.
Caireen wrote to CBSD:
"Sharron just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU"
You may remember Jim and I from your speed dating night last May at Bar Med,
Cabo Roig. We are still together AND talking of getting married next year!
So THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I only went for a laugh and Ive found my soulmate :) Caireen xxx
Jim wrote to CBSD:
"Just to let you know Caireen gave birth to Daisy May Candlin on 29th April. she weighed 7lb 15oz and both her and Caireen are doing well - not too many sleepless nights so far (touch wood!)".
"Thanks very much for helping to bring us together - who'd have thought almost two years after going speed dating we'd have a baby! brilliant !".
Chris and Gael
Chris and Gael met at CBSD'S very first Speed Date at Hostal Lloreto in Denia.
They didnt hit it off at first, it wasnt love at first sight, but a couple of months later
through mutual friends that they had made that night they were reintroduced and started dating.
They have lived together now two years.
In England it is tradition that on the 29th of February, as it only comes every four years a woman can propose marriage to a man. Gael on the 29th February 2008 proposed to Chris on Local Radio and he accepted!!
We are now looking forward to another CBSD Wedding.
Carol and Chris
Carol and Chris met at a CBSD Mountain walk in 2006, Chris had participated in the walk and Carol had joined us for lunch. .Tickets were offered for a charity night the week after and it was there that Carol met up with Chris again they spoke more and Chris gave Carol his phone number. Carol did not call him but the next week through another CBSD MEMBER Chris secured Carols Number and he called her they met had their first date and have been together ever since.
Chris is a Marine Engineer and since getting together the couple have been lucky enough to travel together on his trips to sea. In January 2007 they spent 3 month on a cruise liner on a world cruise, this was a wonderful experience for both of the. In June 2007 they returned to sea for a 4 month trip cruising around Turkey and Greece, and finally In December 2007 they cruised the Caribbean.
They started living together after the first cruise. Carol said “We are very lucky to have found each other, and would not have done so if not for the intervention of CBSD now we are looking forward to wonderful life together”.
